Craig G Lawrence

Craig G Lawrence has extensive work experience in the legal field. Craig G is currently the Group Chief Legal Officer for Ignition Group since August 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of General Counsel: Head of Legal and Compliance at Ignition Group from February 2022 to August 2023.

Before joining Ignition Group, Lawrence worked at Huawei Consumer Business Group. Craig G served as the Head of Legal from January 2020 to January 2022, and as a Senior Legal Counsel from January 2019 to January 2020. Craig G started their tenure at Huawei as a Legal Counsel in February 2018 and continued until January 2019.

Prior to their role at Huawei, Lawrence worked at ZTE Corporation South Africa (Pty) Ltd as a Senior Legal Advisor. In this role, they were responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various agreements and providing legal assistance to multiple departments. Craig G worked at ZTE Corporation from January 2016 to January 2018.

Lawrence also gained experience at PICOR Sub-Saharan Africa where they served as a Legal Commercial Manager from April 2015 to December 2015.

Earlier in their career, Lawrence worked at Glyn Marais Inc. as an Associate from January 2012 to April 2015. Craig G handled client instructions, corresponded with clients, and provided legal advice on various matters. Craig G also practiced in the Magistrates' Court and the Labour Court.

Additionally, Lawrence had internship experiences at Mahons Attorneys in June 2011, Moodie & Robertsons Inc in July 2009, and Edward Nathan Sonnenberg Inc in June 2009.

Craig G Lawrence received a Bachelor's Degree in Law from the University of the Witwatersrand, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) in Insurance and Risk Management and Law from the same university, studying there from 2007 to 2009. Prior to their university education, Craig attended St Benedicts College, where they completed their high school education from 1998 to 2005.
