Kathleen Ores Walsh

Kathleen Ores Walsh, FCAS, serves as the Chief Underwriting Officer at USAA since April 2024 and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Casualty Actuarial Society. Previously held the position of Chief Actuary for Personal Lines at The Hartford from August 2023 to April 2024, and served as Chair and Past Chair of the Board at the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety / Highway Loss Data Institute from January 2021 to August 2023. Kathleen spent several years at USAA as Vice President of Pricing & Product Analytics and has extensive experience in personal lines at COUNTRY Financial® and American Family Insurance, where roles included Vice President and Personal Auto Product Manager. Kathleen began a career in research as a Specialist at Waisman Lab for Brain Imaging and Behavior. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology/Animal Biology from the University of Montana, complemented by executive education from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
