Swati Patankar

Swati Patankar is an esteemed academic and professional with extensive experience in biosciences and bioengineering. Currently serving as an Independent Director at Ipca Laboratories Limited since January 2024, Swati participates in Board meetings and other requisite gatherings. As a Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay since April 2003, Swati holds the additional role of Dean of International Relations, focusing on fostering international collaborations and joint degree programs. Previously, Swati has worked as an Associate Professor at the same institute and as an Assistant Professor at QILS, Nicholas Piramal India Limited. Swati also gained valuable experience as a Group Leader during a tenure at Harvard School of Public Health and as a Postdoctoral fellow. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Molecular Microbiology from Tufts University and a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences/Biochemistry from St. Xavier's College.
