Ikerbasque
Alberto Fernandez-Tejada is a prominent researcher in the field of chemistry, currently serving as an ERC Principal Investigator and Group Leader at CIC bioGUNE and as a Research Professor at Ikerbasque since March 2017. Previously, Alberto held the position of Senior Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oxford, where work focused on novel strategies for probing protein O-GlcNAc glycosylation from September 2015 to February 2017. Prior to that, Alberto was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Center for Biological Research CIB-CSIC, concentrating on the conformational analysis and dynamics of carbohydrate-containing systems, and served as a Fulbright Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, designing and synthesizing enhanced saponin vaccine adjuvants. Alberto obtained a PhD in Chemistry from Universidad de La Rioja in 2009.

The Basque Government created Ikerbasque, a Foundation that primarily aims to help develop scientific research in the Basque Country by attracting researchers and helping them establish themselves
