Christopher Vela has extensive work experience in the field of data science. Christopher is currently working as a Principal Data Scientist at IKIN since May 2023. Prior to this, they held the same role at Cubic ITS from November 2022 to April 2023, and at Cubic Mission & Performance Solutions from March 2022 to November 2022.
Before joining Cubic, Christopher worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Cubic Corporation from September 2017 to March 2022. In this role, they worked on various DARPA projects, led a data science team for a Marine Corps project, and provided support to the British Army and Australian Army.
Christopher also has previous experience as a Data Scientist at Predictive Science from September 2015 to August 2017, where they created data-driven maps and developed regression and machine learning algorithms for marketing decisions. Additionally, they worked as a Senator Gregory Luna Scholar at the Office of Texas State Senator Kirk Watson from January 2015 to June 2015, and as an intern at the Office of Texas State Senator Juan Hinojosa from June 2012 to August 2012.
Christopher Vela attended Edinburg High School from 2006 to 2010. Christopher then went on to study at Columbia University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Statistics and Latino Studies from 2010 to 2014. In 2020, Christopher obtained a certification as a Neo4j Certified Professional from Neo4j.
