James Kruse has extensive work experience in law enforcement. JAMES started their career in 1997 at the DuPage County Sheriff's Office where they held various roles, including Chief of Administrative Bureau, Lieutenant, Sergeant, Director of Training, and Corporal. During their tenure, they demonstrated leadership skills by overseeing 510 sheriff personnel and managing multiple divisions. In 2018, they joined the Illinois Supreme Court as the Supreme Court Marshal and later became the Chief Deputy Marshal.
James Kruse received their Bachelor's degree in Criminal Social Justice from Louis University in Romeoville, IL from 2006 to 2009. JAMES also attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL in 2006 for the School of Police Staff and Command. In 1997, they attended the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL for the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy.
Additionally, James Kruse has obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2021, they obtained the rank of Sergeant from the DuPage County Sheriff's Office. JAMES also holds the certification of Certified IL Peace Officer, which they obtained in 1997. In terms of other certifications, they have held the position of Chief of Administrative Bureau in January 2011, and the rank of Corporal in 1999. JAMES was a member of the DuPage County Sheriff SWAT team and served as the Team Leader of ILEAS (Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System) (WMD/SRT Region IV team leader) in 2004. JAMES also served as a Homeland Security/Counter Terrorism Coordinator and achieved the rank of Lieutenant in November 2010. Furthermore, they were a SWAT team member and a Team Leader for the DuPage County Sheriffs Office.
