Peter Foernssler

Peter Foernssler PE,SE has over 30 years of experience in civil and structural engineering, with a significant focus on transportation projects. Currently serving as the Deputy Chief of Program Implementation at Illinois Tollway since June 2008, Peter oversees the improvement of the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90). Prior roles include Program Manager at Burns & McDonnell, where management of a $730 million Open Road Tolling Program took precedence, and Owner/Structural/Civil Engineer at TranStruct Engineering Support, emphasizing multidisciplinary design coordination. Additionally, Peter has held managerial positions at Patrick Engineering and Teng & Associates, enhancing roadway design and structural engineering capabilities. Peter holds a Master of Science in Structural Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
