Mark Whitehead

Mark Whitehead has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Their most recent position was as the Group Head of Outbound Logistics at Illovo Sugar Africa, where they implemented a real-time visibility system that resulted in a reduction of approximately ZAR300 million in outbound logistics costs. Before that, they served as the Head of Logistics and Customer Service at Reckitt, where they successfully consolidated overflow warehouses and outsourced export logistics execution, saving ZAR1 million and ZAR2 million per annum, respectively. Prior to that, Mark worked at Nike as the Logistics & Distribution Manager for South Africa, where they introduced an innovative direct ship model and managed third-party providers. Mark also held the position of General Manager-Container Services at RTT and served as the Operations Manager and Supply Chain Lead at Avon, where they managed warehouse operations and oversaw a substantial expansion. Mark started their career as the Group Logistics Executive at elleringe holdings Ltd, where they centralized the logistics function and ensured prompt customer deliveries. Mark Whitehead attended the University of Johannesburg from 2007 to 2008, where they obtained a Diploma in Logistics Management. Their field of study focused on logistics, materials, and supply chain management. Prior to that, in 1989, Mark completed their Matric at George Randall High School in East London.
