Matias Ellera

Matias Ellera has extensive experience as a software engineer, with a focus on front-end development. In their current role at illumy inc., they serve as a Senior Software Engineer, leading the front-end development of voice and video communication features. Matias collaborates closely with designers, product managers, and back-end engineers to deliver high-quality telecommunication functionality using React, Next.js, and GraphQL. Additionally, Ellera is responsible for the architecture, development, and implementation of an internal dashboard built with Next.js.

Prior to illumy inc., Ellera worked at Mission Lane as a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, they played a pivotal role in the development lifecycle of two critical applications, both of which utilized React, GraphQL, and TypeScript. Matias also rearchitected a React application to improve developer experience, resulting in enhanced code maintainability, faster onboarding for new team members, and increased productivity.

Before joining Mission Lane, Ellera served as a Lead Software Engineer at Black Knight. In this leadership position, they led a team of front-end engineers in the development of a customer-facing application for 150+ banks, enabling efficient mortgage servicing for their customers. Matias also trained and recruited over 20 employees on front-end technologies, ensuring consistent development standards and high-quality work. Additionally, Ellera played a key role in developing and implementing a comprehensive design system for the company using React, improving consistency and efficiency across all products and platforms.

Matias Ellera's education history includes earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems (B.S.) from the University of North Florida from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) at UADE from 2008 to 2010. Additionally, Matias obtained a technical degree in hotel administration and organization (Tecnico en administracion y organizacion hotelera) from CEPEC La Suisse between 2004 and 2007.
