Matt Mueller has a diverse work experience in various industries. Matt started their career at Deloitte as a Technology Consulting professional from 2003 to 2005. Matt then joined L7 Solutions as a GM Advisory until 2007. During the same year, they also worked as a Guest Lecturer at Curtin University. From 2007 to 2009, they served as the Corporate Risk Manager at Western Power. Matt then joined Origin Energy as the Group Manager, Risk from 2010 to 2012 and later became the Head of Business Resilience from 2012 to 2013.
In 2013, Matt started working at EY as a Director, Advisory Services, where they focused on board and executive-level engagements in technology and strategic risk matters. Matt collaborated with various clients, including BHP, NBN, Rio Tinto, and government departments. After their stint at EY, Matt joined Iluka Resources in 2015. Matt held multiple roles at Iluka, including Chief Information Officer, Group Risk Manager, and Chief Risk Officer.
In 2020, Matt took up a Non-Executive Director position at Curtin University, where they served on the University Council's Audit Risk & Compliance Committee. Overall, Matt's work experience showcases their expertise in risk management, technology consulting, and strategic engagements.
Matt Mueller completed a Graduate Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2008. Matt holds a Master of Commerce, Business and Technology degree with Honours from Curtin University. Additionally, they graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Computer Science from Henderson State University. Matt also obtained the Fellow certification from the Governance Institute of Australia in April 2015.
