Tyler Duston has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Tyler began their career as a Designer at SRAM Corporation, where they were responsible for mechanical and industrial designs, as well as Pro/Engineer support. Tyler then moved on to work as a Freelance Design Consultant, catering to clients such as Kohler Co., Sterling Plumbing Group, Infoblox, Inc., and Marantz Professional Products, Inc.
In 2001, Duston joined SC Johnson as a Designer and later progressed to become a Research Designer in their Center of Innovation. During their time there, they directed design and user research for new product development, made significant contributions to the innovation group, and played a crucial role in the successful design of the first-in-market RTU yellowjacket trap.
In 2012, Duston transitioned to GfK, first as a User Experience Specialist and then as a Lead User Experience Specialist. Tyler continued to develop their expertise in UX research and worked with multinational organizations across industries such as healthcare, telecommunications, and finance. In 2017, GfK User Experience Group was acquired by Ipsos, where Duston took on the role of Senior Lead UX Specialist. At Ipsos, they led teams and provided UX consulting services to multinational organizations, overseeing the entire user research process from study design to data analysis and presentation of findings.
Most recently, Duston joined iManage in 2021 as the Lead UX Researcher. In this role, they are responsible for conducting UX research for multiple product lines, creating research plans, recruiting participants, analyzing results, and generating findings reports. Tyler is also involved in reviewing customer satisfaction feedback and coordinating the acquisition of third-party tools for UX research analysis and archiving.
Tyler Duston earned a Master of Design Methods degree from the Institute of Design (ID) in 2012. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Industrial Design at the University of Illinois Chicago in 1993.
