Leandro Mateus Giacomini Rocha is an experienced R&D Team Leader and Engineer at imec, actively involved in the System Technology Co-Optimization (STCO) program, focusing on bridging system-level constraints with device characteristics through tasks such as application analysis and hardware architecture. Prior to this role, Leandro served as a Professor at the Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Rio Grande do Sul, teaching courses in Computer Architecture and Networks. Leandro's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, where research centered on optimizing arithmetic cores for ASIC circuits, and an MEng in Integrated Electronic Systems from Grenoble INP. Additional experiences include internships in digital hardware design and software engineering, as well as research positions developing communication protocols and exploring FPGA reconfiguration techniques.
