Clariss Moungounga currently serves as a Commissioner in the Refugee Protection Section at the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada since October 2022. Prior to this role, Clariss was with Guzun and Associates from December 2015 to October 2022, working as Bureau Director and Lawyer, handling family law and immigration cases, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, representing clients in court, developing case theories, and providing client consultations. Clariss also gained experience as a Law Intern at Guzun et Associés in early 2015, and previously contributed to community engagement through various roles including leading cooking and nutrition workshops for families at Boîte à Lunch and serving as a legal clinic assistant at Université de Montréal. Clariss began involvement in community initiatives as a Park Animator for young people in the Côte-des-Neiges and Notre-Dame-de-Grâce neighborhoods from 2007 to 2013. Clariss holds a professional qualification in Law from the École du Barreau du Québec and a Bachelor's degree in Law from Université de Montréal.
