Juliana Idoyaga

Scientific Advisor at Immunitas Therapeutics

Dr. Juliana Idoyaga is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Stanford University School of Medicine. Her research program aims to dissect the mechanisms that regulate the capacity of dendritic cells, i.e., key antigen presenting cells, to initiate and modulate different types of immune responses, with the ultimate goal of harnessing these cellular mechanisms therapeutically. In addition to her research, she is heavily committed to diversity in STEM having served as the founding chair of the Community, Diversity and Inclusion in Immunology (CDIII) Committee at Stanford Immunology. During her career, Dr. Idoyaga has earned many awards including the NIH Pathway to Independence Award, the NIH Director’s New Innovator Award, the Baxter Foundation Faculty Scholar Award and the Gabilan Faculty Fellow Award. She obtained her Ph.D. in Immunology and Biomedical Sciences with honors from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and performed her postdoctoral research in the laboratory of Cellular Physiology and Immunology at The Rockefeller University under the direction of the late Nobel Laurate Dr. Ralph Steinman.
