Leila Albers

Leila Albers is an experienced professional in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, currently serving as Associate Director of CMC-Drug Substance at PepGen since January 2023, where responsibilities include leading drug substance development and manufacturing activities for the company's pipeline. Albers has held various roles at Ras Labs, Inc. since 2015, including Principal Scientist and Chief Operating Officer, focusing on electroactive polymers for prosthetics and soft robotics. Previous positions include Principal Research Scientist at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Senior Research Scientist at Codiak BioSciences, R&D Group Leader at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics, and Senior Member of Technical Staff at Draper Laboratory, among others. Albers holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Minnesota and multiple degrees in Chemistry from Rutgers University and St. Cloud State University.
