Senior Scientist at Immunitas Therapeutics

Siamak Tabrizi has a long and varied work experience. siamak began their career in 2002 as a Laboratory Technician at the Tabriz University Clinical Genetic Diagnosis Center, where they were responsible for isolating mononuclear cells from patients' peripheral blood, extracting gDNA from patient samples, performing clinical laboratory assays, including PCR and reverse dot blotting, and preparing records and reporting results to corresponding physicians. In 2003, they became an In Vitro Fertilization Lab Assistance at the Tabriz Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, where they were trained and assisted with ART laboratory techniques. In 2009, they became an Assistant Professor (Research) at Kyushu University, where they accomplished a number of leukemia-translational research projects and published several peer-reviewed papers. From 2016 to 2019, they were a Senior Research Associate at Baylor Scott & White Health, where they finalized five research projects simultaneously, identified QC validation problems for LC-MSMS system, and designed, developed, and established cytoplasmic FACS staining for targeted proteins. In 2019, they moved to UT Southwestern Medical Center as a Senior Research Associate, where they conducted breast cancer tumor immunotherapy trials, 10X-Genomics single cell RNA sequencing, simulated immune checkpoint blockage using breast cancer organoids and human APC, identified immune cell population clusters and single cell transcriptomics through CyTOF platform, and focused on antigen presenting infiltrated immune cells in BC. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Immunitas Therapeutics as a Senior Scientist and Scientist, where they are responsible for target identification and validation, single cell RNA sequencing, and redirected function for exhausted T cells.

Siamak Tabrizi completed their B.Sc in Biology at Tabriz University. siamak then went on to obtain an M.Sc in Clinical Biochemistry from Tabriz University of Medical Sciences between 1999 and 2003. After that, they completed their PhD in Reproductive and Developmental Medicine with a focus on Biomedical, Immunology, and Hematology from Kyushu University in 2009. Currently, they are a Post Doc at Kyushu University Hospital.
