Kelly L. M. has extensive experience in the field of immunization and public health. Kelly L. currently serves as the President and CEO of Immunize.org, a leading nonprofit organization focused on immunization advocacy and education. Prior to this role, they held positions as Deputy Director and Associate Director for Immunization Education, Physician Consultant at Immunize.org.
In addition to their work at Immunize.org, Kelly has had significant involvement with international organizations. Kelly L. has served as the Chair of the CAPACITI Project Steering Committee and as a member of the CAPACITI Project Steering Committee and the Programmatic Suitability for Prequalification (PSPQ) Standing Committee at the World Health Organization (WHO). Kelly L. has also been a member of the Immunization Practices Advisory Committee and the Independent Expert Advisory Group (IEAG) for WHO Guidance on Influenza Vaccination of HCW.
Kelly has held positions at various academic institutions, including Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where they worked as an Adjunct Associate Professor and Clinical Assistant Professor of Health Policy. Kelly L. has also been involved with NSF International as a member of the Joint Committee on Vaccine Storage, contributing to the development of manufacturing standards for vaccine storage equipment.
Their experience also includes roles with organizations such as the Sabin Vaccine Institute, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the State of Tennessee. Kelly L. has served as a member of the Sabin-Aspen Vaccine Science and Policy Group, the Vaccine Innovation Prioritization Strategy (VIPS) Steering Committee at Gavi, and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) at the CDC. In Tennessee, they held the position of Director of the Immunization Program in the Department of Health.
Kelly's career in public health began at the CDC, where they worked as a Preventive Medicine Resident and an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer. Kelly L. also gained experience as a Pediatric Resident at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Throughout their career, Kelly has made significant contributions to the field of immunization, playing important roles in policy development, program evaluation, and education. Their expertise and leadership have been instrumental in advancing immunization efforts both nationally and internationally.
Kelly L. M. obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Interdisciplinary (Neuroscience) from Vanderbilt University in 1994. From 1995 to 2000, they attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where they earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in Medicine. Additionally, in 1998-1999, Kelly pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in International Public Health/International Health at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
In 2015, Kelly obtained certification as a Board Certified in Preventive Medicine and Public Health from the American Board of Preventive Medicine.
