Ioanna Stefani

Ioanna Stefani, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Imperial College London since January 2023, focusing on the structure of bacterial secretion systems through biochemistry and cryo electron microscopy. Prior experience includes an internship at the Dubochet Center for Imaging, where sample preparation and data collection using cryo-EM were conducted in mid-2022, and a PhD researcher role at the University of Lausanne from February 2017 to March 2022, investigating the conformational flexibility of the Munc18-1/syntaxin-1a complex. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Protein-Protein interaction study of the neuronal exocytosis machinery from the University of Lausanne, a Master by Research in Protein Structure and Function from the University of Bath, and a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Democritus University of Thrace.
