Jamal Iqbal

Jamal leads the fundraising strategy for the Faculty of Engineering raising philanthropic income across ten departments from alumni and friends.

He has had a varied career in investment banking and philanthropy over the past 17 years. Initially, working as a Private Banker within the treasury function of Bank of Scotland and Investec Private Bank before moving into the fundraising sector.

His experience in fundraising includes both charities and higher education institutions, having worked in development roles for some of the UK's largest charities such as the NSPCC and Marie Curie Cancer Care. Prior to joining the Advancement Team at Imperial, Jamal led the fundraising efforts of King's College London in Asia with a particular focus on Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.
