Gill Webber

Executive Director IWM Institute at Imperial War Museums

Gill Webber has a diverse and extensive work experience. Gill has held various roles in different organizations over the years.

In 1992, they started their career as a Press Officer at BBC News, where they worked until 1996. Afterwards, they joined BBC World Service as the Head of Media and PR, a position they held from 1995 to 2001.

From 2003 to 2005, Gill served as the Head of Media and PR at the General Medical Council. Gill then moved on to The British Library and worked as the Head of Communications from 2005 to 2011.

In 2011, they joined RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) as the Executive Director of Communication and Outreach. Gill held this position until 2015.

Gill's next role was at Leeds Beckett University, where they served as a Lay Governor from 2014 to 2020.

Gill joined the Sir Winston Churchill Archive Trust in 2016 as a Trustee, and in the same year, they also became an Executive Director at the Imperial War Museums. At the Imperial War Museums, they held two roles: Executive Director IWM Institute from 2018 and Executive Director Content and Programmes from 2016.

Gill's most recent role is as a General Assembly Member at The University of Manchester, starting in 2021.

Gill Webber attended the University of Leeds from 1983 to 1987, where they obtained a degree in Politics.
