Sr. Structural Analysis Engineer at Impulse Space Propulsion

Jacob Kurtz has worked in a variety of roles in the aerospace industry since 2011. In 2011, they worked as a Manufacturing Engineer and Driver for Northwestern Michigan College's SAE Baja. Jacob was also an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the same time. In 2013, they worked as an Online Tutor for InstaEDU. From 2014 to 2016, they worked at BASF as a Computer Aided Engineer Co-op, and at Michigan Technological University's Aerospace Enterprise as a Satellite Mechanical Engineer and Undergraduate Research Assistant. In 2016, they worked as a Structures Engineering Intern at SpaceX. From 2017 to 2019, they worked at SpaceX as an Associate Structures Engineer, and at the University of Michigan's MXL as a Graduate Research Assistant. Since 2019, they have been a Principal Structural Engineer and Structural Engineer at Northrop Grumman, and since 2023 they have been a Sr. Structural Analysis Engineer at Impulse Space.

Jacob Kurtz received an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from Northwestern Michigan College in 2011-2013. Jacob then went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University in 2013-2016. Finally, they earned a Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2017-2018.
