Joel Schmocker has a diverse work experience in the medical device industry. Joel started their career at GE Healthcare as a Respiratory Verification and Validation Co-op, where they discovered critical software defects and executed software test procedures for a new medical ventilator. Joel then joined Medtronic as a Reliability Engineer, where they examined post-market performance of implantable neuro-stimulators and determined root cause of product complaints. At Vention Medical, Joel worked as a Design and Development Engineer, collaborating with a startup company to gain FDA clearance for an occlusion balloon catheter and leading product testing activities. Joel further expanded their expertise at Integer Holdings Corporation, first as a Product/Process Development Engineer II, gaining FDA and CE clearance for a radial artery access product line and leading a cross-functional corrective and preventive action project. Later, as a Product/Process Development Engineer III, Joel served as a development engineer and project manager for structural heart, electrophysiology, and vascular access products. Joel proved the feasibility of a new RF transseptal needle concept and gained recommendations for improvement. Currently, Joel is working at Imricor as a Senior Project Manager, utilizing their project management skills in overseeing projects.

Joel Schmocker attended the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management from 2016 to 2019, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Marketing. Prior to that, they pursued their undergraduate education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2008 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering. In terms of additional certifications, Joel received their Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from the Manufacturers Alliance in July 2019. Joel also obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in May 2020.
