Finite element analysis engineer at IMSystems

Morteza Abouhamzeh has worked in a variety of roles within the engineering field since 2007. From 2007 to 2013, they were a Lead Mechanical Engineer at Amirkabir University of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic (Research centre), where they were responsible for design, analysis, and testing of structures. From 2013 to 2016, they were a Design-Analysis specialist at Howden, where they developed an analytic design tool in MATLAB and a parametric code in ANSYS. From 2016 to 2021, they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate at TU Delft | Aerospace Engineering, where they modelled, analysed, manufactured, and tested composite and hybrid components for the airplane industry. During this time, they were also a Guest Researcher at the University of South Carolina, where they developed material models for the welding of thermoplastics in fuselage structural parts. From 2020 to 2021, they were the Director/owner at Innovations in Structures and Materials (ISM). Currently, they are a Scientific Researcher at Technische Universität Braunschweig and a Finite Element Analysis engineer at IMSystems.

Morteza Abouhamzeh obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Design-manufacturing of hybrid fibre metal laminates from Delft University of Technology between 2012 and 2015. Morteza also holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic, which they obtained between 2004 and 2006. In addition, Morteza Abouhamzeh has obtained several certifications, including a TU Delft Verified Certificate for Sustainable Aviation: The Route to Climate-Neutral Aviation from edX in August 2022, a SOLIDWORKS: Master Modeling certification from LinkedIn in July 2020, a Dutch Course certification from Gemeente Delft in May 2015, an ANSYS user programmable features certification from ANSYS, Inc. in August 2014, and a TOEFL-600 PBT certification from Educational Testing Service (ETS) in August 2011.
