Joseph Ferner (PhD)

Joseph Ferner (PhD) has a diverse work experience spanning several industries.

From 2019 to the present, they have been working at IN-PART, where they currently hold the position of Campaign Operations & Network Manager. In this role, they manage accounts of R&D clients, delivers reports detailing opportunities, and liaises with senior R&D stakeholders. Joseph also previously served as an Account Manager, both in the Discover and Connect teams. In these positions, they worked with technology transfer offices at global universities, analyzed statistics for senior university management, and edited research and technology briefs.

Before joining IN-PART, Dr. Ferner worked at the University of Sheffield from 2015 to 2019. Here, they served as a PhD Researcher, conducting research in their field of expertise. Joseph also worked as a Postgraduate Laboratory Demonstrator, teaching undergraduates in laboratory courses and grading lab reports.

In 2014, Dr. Ferner had a summer research placement at the University of Sheffield, and prior to that, they worked as a self-employed Music Teacher and provided GCSE maths tuition from 2010 to 2011.

Joseph Ferner, PhD, has a diverse education history with a focus on chemistry and microbiology. Joseph began their educational journey in 2004 at Castle Sixth Form and Kenilworth School, where they completed their secondary education. Moving forward, Joseph enrolled at The University of Sheffield in 2011, pursuing a Masters of Chemistry with study in Europe. During this time, they had the opportunity to further their studies at Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III, where they obtained a MChem in Chemistry in 2013 and 2014. Finally, Joseph completed their academic journey at The University of Sheffield, earning their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry and Microbiology in 2019.
