In-Q-Tel is a non-profit venture capital firm created by the United States government in 1999. The firm invests in technology companies that provide products or services to the CIA, FBI, and other United States intelligence agencies. In-Q-Tel is headquartered in Arlington, Virginia.The board of directors at In-Q-Tel consists of individuals with experience in venture capital, technology, and government. The current chairman of the board is New Enterprise Associates (NEA) partner Peter Barris. Other members of the board include: General Motors vice chairman Stephen Girsky; Pivotal CEO Paul Maritz; EMC president and COO David Goulden; Symantec vice president Mike Fey; and Kleiner Perkins partner John Doerr.
