Research Associate, Molecular Biology at Inari

Manuel Schmid is a skilled research associate in molecular biology at Inari since August 2020, focusing on the design and construction of CRISPR guides and vectors to enhance seed potential. Prior to this role, Manuel served as a research assistant at the University of Tennessee, where over 200 vectors were developed for radiation and pathogen sensing in sentinel plants, alongside establishing a transformation pipeline for stable transgenic plants. Manuel’s experience also includes managing a research lab at the Research and Business Development Center, where supervision involved a team analyzing soil for phosphors and nitrogen, as well as working as a breeding/lab intern at Sunrain Varieties, contributing to potato variety development. Earlier internship experience includes quality control at Boehringer Ingelheim. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology from Brigham Young University - Idaho and an Associate of Science in Chemistry from Höhere Bundes Lehr und Versuchs Anstalt für Chemische Industrie.
