Melissa Garcia is a highly experienced plant scientist with a strong background in wheat research and breeding. Currently serving as a Senior Wheat Scientist at Inari since December 2021, Melissa previously held positions at The University of Adelaide College as a Research Fellow specializing in faba bean breeding and at the University of Adelaide in roles including Translational Manager for the ARC Wheat Hub and Project Leader for germplasm development focused on genetic diversity. Earlier experience includes a Research Fellow position at the Australian Centre for Plant Functional Genomics and a Postdoc Fellowship at the University of Campinas. Melissa Garcia earned a PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from Universidade Estadual de Campinas between 2005 and 2009.
