Julie Callebaut is a highly experienced scientific attaché at INBO (Research Institute for Nature and Forest) since December 2020, where involvement includes the INTERLACE project aimed at enhancing urban ecosystem restoration across the European Union and Latin America. Previously, Callebaut served as a GIS Specialist at the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme, supporting environmental monitoring initiatives for 14 Pacific Island Countries. Callebaut’s earlier roles include GIS Consultant at THE GIS FACTORY and GIS Analyst for GeoGecko, focusing on vegetation modeling and geographic information systems in East Africa. Additional consultancy experience spans projects with the Andean Bear Foundation and UNESCO, contributing to biodiversity and cultural peace initiatives, respectively. Callebaut holds a Master's degree in Biology from Ghent University and has furthered education in Remote Sensing.
