Sahan Perera

Sahan Perera has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Sahan recently joined Cloudreach, an Atos company, as a Senior Cloud System Developer in February 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Rackspace Technology as an AWS Cloud Engineer IV from October 2017 to February 2022.

Before their time at Rackspace, Sahan worked at Pearson as a Principle Engineer in AWS Cloud Engineering. Sahan was responsible for managing Pearson's extensive use of AWS, including overseeing a team, defining product roadmaps, and applying agile and DevOps best practices. Sahan worked at Pearson from September 2015 to October 2017.

In their earlier career, Sahan held technical management roles at Intel Corporation, where they managed Technical Support and Deployment departments and engaged with customers in the US and Europe. Sahan was also a Team Lead during their time at Intel, from February 2008 to September 2015.

Sahan also has experience as a Visiting Lecturer at Saegis Campus, where they taught computer science subjects including Cloud Computing, Team Working and Project Management in IT, and Computer Troubleshooting Techniques. Sahan held this role from December 2011 to December 2012.

Additionally, they served as a Visiting Lecturer at The Open University of Sri Lanka from June 2008 to December 2011, teaching various subjects.

Earlier in their career, Sahan worked at Virtusa as a Senior Engineer QA, specializing in the IBM ETL tool. Sahan gained technical experience in installing and configuring the tool on different servers and databases. Sahan also received recognition for their outstanding contribution as a team player during their time at Virtusa.

Prior to that, Sahan worked as an IT Instructor at the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology, teaching subjects related to Information Systems to graduate students pursuing IT degrees.

Sahan Perera's education history begins with a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from SLIIT, which they obtained between 2001 and 2004. Sahan then pursued a Master of Science degree in Information Management at SLIIT from 2005 to 2007. Sahan Perera has also obtained several certifications, including the AWS Certified SysOps Administrator in November 2019, the AWS Certified Developer - Associate in May 2020, the Amazon Web Services DevOps Engineer - Professional in December 2020, the AWS Certified Solution Architect - Associate in April 2021, the AWS Certified Solution Architect - Professional in April 2021, and the BCS DevOps Certification from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, in June 2020. In addition, they acquired certifications such as the Business English Language Testing System (BULTS) from the University of Cambridge in February 2008, the IELTS General from the British Council in July 2019, the Professional Member of the British Computer Society from BCS PROFESSIONAL in August 2017, and the AWS Certified Security - Specialty from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in January 2023.
