Summary Description:  The Data team at InDebted focuses on developing machine learning models, AI solutions, BI solutions and data transformation processes to accelerate our disruption of the traditional debt collection industry. By utilising the rich datasets we have accumulated from communicating with our customers via digital-first channels and other innovations, we are able to efficiently deliver significantly better collections performance results compared to our peers.

Being a member of our Research and Development team, you will work in close collaboration with different departments to provide support to both internal and external stakeholders. As the Senior Analytics Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing and deploying custom reporting data pipelines and file integration solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop data pipelines using Python and associated orchestration tools and processes
  • Deploy data pipelines following best practice DevOps principles and incorporating automated testing
  • Drive a culture of continuous analytics improvement to advance data literacy across the organisation
  • Manage large scale data integration projects
  • Be a team player, foster a speed-oriented culture in our data team and help to cultivate a fast-growing team
  • Work autonomously and make decisions collaboratively, within a team that will support and challenge you as you grow and develop
  • Drive a culture of continuous analytics improvement to advance data literacy across the organisation

Required Attributes:

  • Strong development skills in Python
  • Experience writing SQL queries for extracting and processing data
  • Experience with data warehousing technologies (preferably Snowflake) and data pipeline orchestration tools (preferably Dagster)
  • Experience with data structure and data modelling, as well as translating business requirements to fit the purpose
  • Experience using Git version control
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced working environment where priorities may change frequently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to understand and explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Familiarity with AWS (or other cloud service providers)

Highly Valued Attributes:

  • Experience deploying data pipelines following best practice, including writing automated tests and setting up of CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working with event-oriented data structures
  • Familiarity with data transformation tools such as dbt
