Lori Boots

Lori Boots has been part of the Pirate Family since 2019 and is responsible for providing strategic guidance and leadership for the human resources function including core human capital programs, policies, and procedures including recruitment, talent acquisition, talent management, benefits administration, employee relations, compensation, payroll, performance management, professional development, and diversity.

Before pursuing her employment in education, Boots served over thirty years in senior-level Human Resources positions for manufacturing companies and the logistics division of Walmart Stores, Inc. In these roles, Boots successfully partnered with organizational leadership to plan, develop, and execute numerous HR platforms, programs, policies, and procedures.

Boots is a native of the Independence area and earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Kansas.
