Bruce Benson

Bruce Benson is a distinguished economist with extensive experience in academia and research. Currently serving as a Research Professor at Appalachian State University since 2016 and a Visiting Distinguished Scholar at the Free Market Institute, Texas Tech University, Bruce Benson has held notable roles including the DeVoe Moore Professor and Distinguished Research Professor at Florida State University, where a Professor Emeritus status has also been attained. With a long-standing association as a Senior Fellow at The Independent Institute since 1991, Bruce Benson has contributed significantly to the field through publications, research, and policy analysis. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Economics from Texas A&M University and both BA and MA degrees in Economics from the University of Montana.
