J. Todd Hagely

J. Todd Hagely is the current CFO at Independent Life. Prior to this, they were with Direct General for 19 years, where they started as an Assistant Vice President and eventually became the Senior Vice President of Finance. While with Direct General, Hagely was involved in setting the strategic direction for the organization, which included developing the Company’s annual business plan and long-term growth strategy. J. also helped drive a shift in the business model from one that was heavily dependent on bricks and mortar retail to one that seamlessly incorporated virtual channels - an initiative that contributed to a 33% increase in sales over 4 years.

In addition to their work in strategic planning, Hagely was also responsible for managing the transition to private-equity ownership, which included implementing key performance metrics to monitor operations and growth initiatives. J. developed projection models to evaluate and compare the potential returns for strategic acquisitions and successfully negotiated 20+ acquisitions over a 5 year period.
