Elisabeth Davies

Elisabeth Davies Hon FRCP serves as the National Chair of the Independent Monitoring Boards since July 2023, overseeing independent monitoring in prisons and immigration detention facilities across England, Wales, and the UK. Concurrently, Elisabeth holds positions as Chair of the Office for Legal Complaints and the Assurance and Appointments Committee at the General Pharmaceutical Council, where the focus is on promoting public trust in pharmacy standards. Previous roles include Chair of the Prisoners' Education Trust, Senior Independent Director at the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman, and Chair of the Legal Services Consumer Panel, contributing significantly to governance and consumer advocacy in legal services. Elisabeth's educational background includes a PhD in Public Law, an MSc in Dispute Resolution, and a degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from prestigious institutions.
