John Fuchs

John Fuchs has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. John began their career as a Management Trainee at Chemical Bank in 1972, where they underwent an MBA-equivalent bank officer training program. John then worked as an Assistant Buyer at JCPenney from 1973 to 1975. John transitioned into the field of library science and worked as a Reference Librarian/Collection Development at Pikes Peak Library District from 1977 to 1981. Following this, they served as the Interim LRC Director/Resource Specialist at Pikes Peak Community College from 1981 to 1984. John then became the Library Director at Berkshire Athenaeum from 1984 to 1991, and later at Carmel Clay Public Library from 1991 to 2000. John then held the position of Library Director at Burbank Public Library from 2000 to 2002 and at Rochester Public Library from 2002 to 2012. John was also the Library Director at Kent Memorial Library from 2012 to 2013. Currently, John Fuchs is an Independent Writer, Photographer, and Retired Library Director.

John Fuchs completed their Bachelor of Science in Economics at John Carroll University from 1963 to 1967. John then pursued a Master of Library Science degree at the University of Pittsburgh, specializing in Library Science, from 1976 to 1977. In between these two educational pursuits, they attended Penn State University's Graduate School of Journalism for one year in 1971, though they did not obtain a degree from that program.
