Stephen McKitt

Stephen Mckitt has a diverse work experience in the legal field, starting as a Law Clerk at the Montgomery District Attorney's office in 2015. Stephen then held roles such as a Research Assistant and a Certified Student Attorney before becoming a Judicial Law Clerk at the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts in 2016. Stephen later worked as a Trial Attorney for the United States Trustee's Office and then as a Senior Counsel/Assistant Vice President at JPMorgan Chase & Co. In 2020, they were a Bankruptcy and Creditors Rights Attorney at Balch & Bingham LLP. Stephen has since worked as an Associate Attorney at Akerman LLP and Polsinelli before assuming the role of Senior Vice President and Counsel at Independent Financial in 2022.

Stephen McKitt holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, earned from 2009 to 2012. Subsequently, they obtained a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from The University of Alabama School of Law from 2013 to 2016. Additionally, they hold Bar Admissions from the Supreme Court of Ohio, Alabama State Bar, and Supreme Court of Texas.
