Venus Nalchigar

Venus Nalchigar has a varied work experience that spans over several years. Venus started their career as a Web & Design Teacher Assistant at Western University in 2014. Venus then worked as a Media Assistant at m2 Canada for a few months in 2015, where they assisted in preparing media plans and purchasing various advertising materials.

In the same year, Venus joined Payment Source as a Design Specialist. Their responsibilities included designing product and web projects, as well as creating branding and marketing collateral for trade shows and events.

In 2016, Venus joined Borrowell as their first in-house Product Designer. Venus played a crucial role in aligning product vision and strategy by facilitating workshops with product managers. Venus also executed end-to-end product design for all core product experiences.

In 2018, Venus moved to Index Exchange, where they initially worked as a Senior Product Designer. During their tenure, they focused on the Private Marketplace Deals and Index UI account management product lines. Venus also established a design research program to gather feedback directly from users. Venus later became a Manager of Product Design, overseeing a team and contributing to team operations. Currently, Venus holds the position of Director of Product Design at Index Exchange, where they lead a team and is responsible for managing and leading the product design function, as well as reporting on team operations and presenting updates to leadership and at company-wide presentations.

Venus Nalchigar completed their Honours Specialization in Media, Information & Technoculture Studies from Western University from 2010 to 2015. During the same period from 2011 to 2014, they also obtained a Diploma in Interactive Media Design & Production from Fanshawe College. Later, in 2016 to 2017, they pursued a Certificate in User Experience Design from George Brown College.
