Aniruddha Nayak

Research Intern at Indian Institute of Science

Aniruddha Nayak is currently a Research Intern at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) since July 2024, focusing on MLL-1 gene mutations related to various cancers under the supervision of Dr. Srimonta Gayen. Previously, Aniruddha served as the Team Lead for the BITS Pilani, Goa team in the iGEM Competition, achieving a Silver Medal at the 2023 event in Paris, where responsibilities included conducting experiments and managing fundraising and publicity strategies. Aniruddha also completed a Mitacs Globalink Summer Research Internship at Université de Montréal, developing transgenic lines for studying zebrafish heart regeneration, and held the position of Chief Coordinator at the Department of Journalism and Media Affairs at BITS Goa, revitalizing the Journalism Club. Additional experiences include mentoring first-year students as a Peer Mentor, conducting research at JNCASR, and teaching underprivileged children for Nirmaan Organization. Aniruddha is pursuing a combined MSc and BE degree in Biological Sciences and Electronics and Communication Engineering at BITS Pilani, Goa Campus.
