Saravanan Palani

Assistant Professor at Indian Institute of Science

Saravanan Palani is an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) since August 2020, where the research group focuses on actin cytoskeleton, cell division, and synthetic biology using yeast models and mammalian cells. Prior to this position, Saravanan held roles as a Senior Research Fellow and Research Fellow at the Center for Mechanochemical Cell Biology at the University of Warwick from March 2018 to July 2020 and from January 2014 to February 2018, respectively. Saravanan completed a Doctor of Science (PhD) in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology at Heidelberg University from 2008 to 2013, a Master of Science in Microbial Gene Technology at Madurai Kamaraj University from 2005 to 2007, and a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology at Vellore Institute of Technology from 2002 to 2005.
