Ueli Grossniklaus is a distinguished Professor of Plant Developmental Genetics at Universität Zürich, serving since May 2000 and currently holding several leadership positions, including Acting Director of the Department of Plant and Microbial Biology, Co-Director of the University Research Priority Program "Evolution in Action," and Director of the Botanical Museum. Ueli Grossniklaus also holds the position of Infosys Visiting Chair at the Indian Institute of Science since January 2020 and was a Foreign Visiting Professor at Nagoya University for a brief period in late 2019. Previously, Ueli Grossniklaus contributed to the Genetic PhD Program as an Adjunct Professor at SUNY at Stony Brook from 1997 to 2002, worked as a Staff Scientist at the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research, and served as a Senior Staff Scientist and CSHL Fellow at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory between 1994 and 1999. Ueli Grossniklaus earned a PhD in Developmental Genetics and a Diploma in Cell Biology from the University of Basel, where educational pursuits spanned from 1984 to 1993.
