Cindy Emerson

Cindy Emerson currently serves as the Community Services Department Director and Managing Director of Human Services for the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners, a position held since July 2023. Previously, Cindy was the Director of Instructional Innovation for the School District of Indian River County from July 2020 to July 2023 and served as Principal at Vero Beach Elementary School from January 2016 to July 2020. Earlier experience includes serving as an Assistant Principal from March 2005 to January 2016 and as a Social Studies Teacher and Department Chair for the same school district. Cindy's career began at Broward County Schools as a Social Studies Teacher and Department Chair. Cindy holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Florida Atlantic University and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Florida.
