Amanda Cole has a diverse work experience in the healthcare field. Amanda started their career as an Emergency Room Technician at Sharp HealthCare in 2007 and worked there until 2011. Amanda then transitioned to become a Surgical Intensive Care Nurse at Sharp HealthCare from 2011 to 2021. During this time, they also worked as a Post Anesthesia Care Nurse from 2014 to 2015. In 2017, they joined Lifesharing | A Donate Life Organization as an Organ Procurement Coordinator until 2021. In the same year, they started working as an Expert Nurse Witness at the California Board of Registered Nursing, a role they continue to hold. In 2021, they joined UC San Diego Health as an Assistant Nurse Manager in the Heart + Lung Transplant, VAD Program. Amanda later became the Clinical Manager of the Lung Transplant Program at the same institution until 2023. Currently, they work as the Director of Education and Research at Indiana Donor Network starting from 2023.

Amanda Cole completed their Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art at Westmont College from 2003 to 2007. Amanda then pursued a Master of Public Health in Health Services Administration at San Diego State University from 2007 to 2009. Amanda furthered their education at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from 2009 to 2010.
