August Konie

August Konie has extensive experience in the food industry, specifically in quality assurance and regulatory affairs. August currently works as the Practice Group Director for FSQA and Regulatory Affairs at BSM Partners, where they lead the practice group responsible for servicing FDA and USDA facilities. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Quality Assurance and Food Safety at Indiana Packers Corporation. August also held the position of Vice President of Quality Assurance and Food Safety at Maple Leaf Farms from 2010 to 2016. Earlier in their career, they were the Director of Quality Assurance at Simmons Pet Food and also worked as an Internal Quality Auditor/Supplier Certifications Manager at Simmons Foods.

August Konie earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations from Indiana University - Kelley School of Business from 2013 to 2015. During the same period, Konie also obtained a Masters of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University. Prior to these degrees, Konie completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Genetics and Development at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1986 to 1990.
