Karl Janich

Karl Janich serves as an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Indiana University Health since August 2022. Prior to this role, Karl completed a Neurosurgery residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin from July 2015 to July 2022. Early professional experiences include positions as an EMT and Paramedic at Valley EMS from August 2009 to June 2011, and as a Secondary Math/Science Teacher at IDEA Public Schools from July 2007 to June 2009, during which Karl was also a Corps Member with Teach For America. Additional engineering experience includes a Senior Engineering Intern role at Cardinal Health and internships as a Software Engineer at both Beckman Laser Institute and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Karl holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from UT Health San Antonio and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College.
