James Firth

James Firth is a highly experienced chemist currently serving as Lead Chemist at Indivior since January 2023. Previously, James held several positions at the University of York, including Research Fellow and Senior Postdoctoral Research Associate, where work focused on Pd mediated transformations, fragment-based drug design, and high throughput experimentation. At the University of Leeds, James was engaged as a Postdoctoral Research Associate on the European Lead Factory project, focusing on the synthesis of 3D polycyclic lead-like drug scaffolds. Prior experience includes a role as a medicinal chemist at Cancer Research Technology, developing small molecule inhibitors of kinases, and a position at Evotec, where James synthesized large compound libraries. James holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of York and an MChem in Chemistry from The University of Edinburgh.
