Lucas Moitinho-Silva

Lucas Moitinho-Silva is a highly skilled bioinformatician and data scientist with extensive experience in analyzing biological data and investigating microbiomes. Currently serving as a Staff Bioinformatician at the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein since August 2024, Lucas previously worked at Indivumed Therapeutics, where statistical and machine learning techniques were applied to discover cancer drug targets. Past roles include postdoctoral researcher positions at The University of Kiel and EMBL, focusing on the human microbiome and its interactions with diseases and drugs. Lucas holds a PhD in Integrative Biology from The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg and has contributed to significant projects during postdoctoral tenure at UNSW. Educational background also includes a Master’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology and a degree in Biomedicine with a focus on Immunology.
