We are currently seeking a detail-orientated and proactive Purchasing Agent to join our team.

Job Summary

The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing raw materials, equipment, and supplies necessary for our manufacturing operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the manufacturing process and supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate terms, and secure agreements that meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production and warehouse teams to ensure timely procurement of materials.

  • Prepare and process purchase orders, maintain accurate records of transactions, and track order status.

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost and efficiency.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to forecast demand and manage supply chain risks.

  • Resolve issues related to delivery, quality, and pricing with suppliers.

  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and emerging suppliers.

  • Maintain and update supplier databases and performance records.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, is preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with procurement software.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence effectively.

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills with a focus on customer service and teamwork.

  • Knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and market dynamics.

  • Ethics: High level of integrity and ethical standards in all business practices.
