Rachel Wise has a diverse work experience in the media and journalism industry. Rachel is currently working as the Director of Newsroom Operations at Industry Dive since June 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Director of Programs & Projects at the News Leaders Association (NLA) from January 2021 to June 2021.
From August 2019 to December 2020, Rachel worked at McClatchy as a Senior Editor in Training and Project Management. Additionally, they held the position of Regional Editor & Video Trainer at McClatchy from April 2017 to August 2019.
Rachel also participated in the Women's Leadership Academy as part of their role at The Poynter Institute from March 2019 to April 2019. Before that, they worked as a Senior Editor at the Reynolds Journalism Institute from 2014 to 2017 and as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Missouri-Columbia during the same period.
Rachel'swork experience also includes being a Digital Editor at the Knoxville News Sentinel from March 2011 to July 2014, where they were responsible for multimedia production and storytelling. Rachel has also worked as a Multimedia Reporter & Editor at The New York Times in 2010 and as a Multimedia Coach at the Eddie Adams Workshop in the same year. Rachel started their career as a Production Assistant for the documentary film "Sacred Poison" from January 2010 to September 2010.
Rachel Wise (she/her) obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Communication from Florida Gulf Coast University. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Journalism from New York University from 2009 to 2010.
