Justin Laidlaw

Justin Laidlaw is a staff reporter for INDY Week, focusing on local government, education, transportation, and culture in Durham since September 2023. Laidlaw also serves as the founder and reporting fellow for Buddy Ruski and has experience as a multimedia producer and engagement manager at Code the Dream. Previous roles include teaching at Putney Student Travel, marketing management at American Underground, and various editorial positions at Clarion Content. Laidlaw has played a significant role in marketing and communications for RUNAWAY® and has experience in social media marketing and content strategy from positions at ShiftZen and Forward Cities. Laidlaw holds a degree in Mass Communications, Journalism from North Carolina Central University and an Associate of Arts in History from Durham Technical Community College.
