Martha Hewison is an experienced education professional with a strong focus on accelerated education and humanitarian work. Currently serving as the Coordinator of the Accelerated Education Working Group at the Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE) since March 2022, Martha has previously held significant roles including Education Adviser at UNHCR, where Martha chaired the Accelerated Education Working Group from February 2016 to December 2021. Martha's expertise encompasses leadership in educational programs across various contexts, including fragile and conflict-affected regions in East Africa, as demonstrated during tenure as Regional Education Adviser for Save the Children UK. With a solid academic background including a Master of Science in Emergency & Development Practices from Oxford Brookes University, Martha has also contributed to the education sector through consultancy work and has managed multiple education programs aiming to improve learning outcomes for marginalized populations.
